The Team

Mike Biggs:  Instruct and Maintain

After over 30 years in Engineering mainly as a Project Engineer, predominately in the Nuclear Industry, Mike took the plunge in 2000 to retrain in the fields of Information Technology and Adult Education.  This change of direction enabled him to fulfil an ambition to work in I.T. that he had held since his first involvement with computers in the early ‘80’s.
Mike’s qualifications include a C&G 7261 - Level 3 - Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications together with a C&G 7307 - Stage 1 - Further and Adult Education Certificate. In addition, from his Engineering background, he is a registered Incorporated Engineer (I. Eng.) and a Member of the Institute of Incorporated Engineers (M.I.I.E).

Between 2002 and 2009 Mike has worked for part of working week in a local educational environment as an Information Learning Technology (ILT) Practitioner.  He has helped lecturers and students to become familiar and comfortable in using the latest technology to enhance their teaching and learning experience.

After leaving education in the spring of 2009, Mike is now devoting all his attention to expanding the already considerable  customer base.

As founder of the company, his organisational talents, and commitment to customer satisfaction ensure that you will receive the very best attention. He is an excellent communicator and organiser and uses these abilities to overcome the client’s natural apprehension at learning new skills. Many clients re-book tutor and/or home PC maintenance sessions on a regular basis and he gains great satisfaction in observing their progress and increasing confidence in using and maintaining their own equipment.

Whilst not as experienced as Karl at Hardware/Software fault diagnosis and repair, a large proportion of customer’s problems are resolved on his initial visit. Our ‘No Fix – No Fee’ philosophy means you will only be charged by the Associate that successfully completes you assignment.

Karl Harrison:  Build and Maintain

Karl brings with him over 20 years experience in Computing backed up by an Honours Computer Degree (BSc) and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) qualification.

He has a wide range of knowledge in PC Hardware, having commercially built PC's for the last decade and more. His work has involved builds which as well as being to the ‘normal’ commercial standard, involved working to specifications intended for very specific and specialised purposes.

Many of his existing clients have come back to update their PC’s and to call on him for upgrade and maintenance advice. Extensive knowledge and experience in all Microsoft operating systems from Windows 95 through to Windows 7 together with Networking competence in Client Server and Peer to Peer protocols ensures that your custom built computer will meet or exceed your expectations.

He can also offer solutions based on PC or Server Virtualisation which often provides solutions to awkward software / hardware conflicts. If you have Legacy software you need to use but the hardware has failed to recognise then ‘Virtual’ may be the solution...

Having designed and installed a full home cinema setup in his garage Karl now brings full HD media experience to the services that PC-BMI can offer.
